The Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Chengdu 2024, a prestigious Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament, is set to take place from April 8th to April 14th in Chengdu, China. This event will feature 16 of the best CS2 teams from around the world competing for a share of the $250,000 prize pool.


The participating teams include some of the top names in the CS2 scene, such as FaZe Clan, Astralis, FURIA Esports, and Team Liquid. The tournament will be divided into two groups, with each group consisting of eight teams. The opening matches will be played in a best-of-one format, followed by best-of-three series for the remaining matches.

The group stage winners will advance directly to the playoff semi-finals, while the second and third-placed teams from each group will compete in the quarter-finals. The playoffs will be a single-elimination bracket, with all matches played in a best-of-three format. 

The champion of IEM Chengdu 2024 will receive a cash prize of $100,000 and an automatic invite to the prestigious IEM Cologne 2024 event in August. The runner-up will take home $42,000, while the third and fourth-placed teams will each receive $20,000. 

This tournament marks a significant return of ESL to China after a five-year hiatus, and it is sure to be a thrilling showcase of the best CS2 talent the world has to offer.
